Albert Schweitzer, the eighth Frenchman to be awarded the Nobel Prize was a great philosopher, Alsatian theologian, organist and physician. He was given the prize for his great philosophy of “Reverence for Life”. He was also a Lutheran who challenged both the secular and traditional Christian view.
